MARLBORO — Local Republican leaders are seeking a new candidate to run for a seat on the Marlboro Township Council in the Nov. 3 election.
Republican Municipal Chairwoman Selika Josiah Gore said Frank DeBlasi withdrew his candidacy for council last week, citing unforeseen personal circumstances.
“Frank was a great candidate with a true desire to serve the public and bring new Republican leadership to Marlboro,” Gore said. “While we regret his withdrawal, we appreciate his integrity. We hope to see his name on the ballot again in the future.”
According to a press release, the Marlboro
Republican Committee will meet in the near future to endorse to new candidate for council.
The new candidate will join running mates Ira Goldberg for mayor and Sui Allex for council on the campaign trail and on the ballot in November.
JoAnn Denton will serve as the campaign manager for the 2015 Republican “Positively Marlboro” campaign.
The Republican candidates will face incumbent Democrats Jonathan Hornik, who is running for a third term as mayor, and council members Randi Marder and Michael Scalea.
