I write this letter because June is the 50th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Griswold v. Connecticut. In this historic decision, the court ruled that a state’s ban on the use of contraceptives violated the right to marital privacy.
As I have been married for 50 years, I understand how this decision proved to be very important to the health of women and families for a half-century. Once again, women’s health is at risk because New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will veto funding for women’s health. It is tragic that we are still fighting these battles after 50 years.
Women’s health matters.
