The Monmouth County Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR) hosted a fun-filled event at Buona Sera Palazzo in Ocean Township on May 7, “Bras for a Cause,” to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The event raised $21,515.00.
“The Monmouth County Chapter of WCR partnered with the American Cancer Society to help make a difference for our families and friends affected by this terrible disease,” said Colleen Camillo, 2015 local chapter president. “The entire committee worked tirelessly to orchestrate an event that was so much fun and raised more than we could have imagined.”
Jennifer Lefthand, senior market manager for the American Cancer Society, added, “Bras for a Cause is a perfect example of a community coming together and fighting back against cancer in an extremely fun and unique way. The Monmouth County Women’s Council of Realtors is an amazing group of women dedicated to eliminating cancer and supporting their local community. Together, we are making strides to finish the fight!”
With 300 guests in attendance, the all-male models, a total of 16, donned their themed bras sponsored by local real estate, mortgage, insurance and title companies. The DJ and announcer, Tara Feeley of Feeley Entertainment, started the bidding and the stage came alive with men, bras, music and bidding. Each had its own playful theme, such as “Let’s Extinguish Cancer” and “Treasure Your Chest.” The highlight of the auction was “50 Shades of Pink,” modeled by Joseph L. Boscia Jr., public accountant with Boscia & Boscia, PC. This was his third year modeling for the cause, and his efforts leading up to the event raised $5,600 for his cleverly designed creation.
