Faith Weber, a rising senior who pitched New Egypt High School’s softball team to another NJSIAA Central Jersey Group I championship this spring, contributed to the Burlington County team’s surge to its first Carpenter Cup title in Philadelphia.

Weber was the winning pitcher and grounded in the run in the fourth inning that snapped a 3-3 tie as Burlington County beat defending champion Tri-Cape, 4-3, June 24 in the winners bracket finals.

Burlington County went on to beat losers bracket survivor Mercer County, 10-4, June 25 to win the 11th annual Carpenter Cup championship.

The United States Tennis Association (USTA), the national governing body for the sport of tennis in the U.S. that owns and operates the US Open Tennis Championships, announced that it is hosting the fifth annual US Open Job Fair.

It will be held July 8 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Sheraton LaGuardia East, 135-20 39th Ave., Flushing, New York.

All job-seekers are urged to arrive early, as doors will close promptly at the ending time. Job-seekers will have an opportunity to speak with US Open staff and its vendors about the various open positions, such as guest services, facility operations, cooks, concessions, drivers, maintenance, security, cashiers and customer service representatives.

For those unable to attend the job fair, applications for available positions at the US Open will be accepted through August. Additional information about available USTA positions can be found online at www.usopen.org.
