Barnes & Noble plans pop culture programs

Barnes & Noble will host a month-long celebration of pop culture at its North Brunswick location, 869 Route 1 South.

Throwback Thursdays on July 9, 16, 23 and 30 will feature a different, specially crafted display wall each week containing fun facts, images and products about the decades from the 1960s to the 1990s.

DC Comic Days July 9-12 invite customers for a special offer on all DC Comic graphic novels and a free Young Gotham comic collection and poster, while supplies last. Cosplay is welcome.

Fans of the Cartoon Network adaptation “Teen Titans Go” can participate in storytime, activities, trivia, giveaways and cosplay at 2 p.m. July 11.

Comic Convention Collectibles will be available for sale July 9-12.

All Barnes & Noble stores nationwide will read Harper Lee’s classic “To Kill a Mockingbird” from start to finish during a Read-A-Thon July 13 and 14. Lee’s new novel “Go Set a Watchman” goes on sale at 7 a.m. July 14.

Customers are invited to sign up for the Minions Fun Event and become a certified Minion and attend Villain-Con at 7 p.m. July 17.

Star Wars Saturday is set for July 18, Manga Mania is scheduled for July 19, Fangirl Friday will be held July 24, Vinyl Day is July 25 and James Patterson Day will be July 26.

In celebration of the newly discovered Dr. Seuss book “What Pet Should I Get?” children of all ages are invited to help Barnes & Noble decide what pet to get at a special storytime at 7 p.m. July 28.

Get Pop-Cultured ends with a Dr. Seuss Spectacular, a celebration of Theodor Seuss Geisel, at 7 p.m. July 31.
