MANALAPAN — Police are investigating an incident in which an adult male approached a teenage girl.
Police said that at 6:50 a.m. June 23, an Asian man approached a 16-year-old girl in the area of Shilling Road. The man was driving a light blue four-door vehicle with New Jersey license plates.
The man had a small beige dog in the vehicle and when he approached the girl he asked her if she wanted to pet his dog. Police said the girl ran away from the man.
The individual was described as an Asian man with a long gray goatee, gray hair on the sides of his head and bald on top. He was wearing eyeglasses and a blue shirt with short sleeves.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Manalapan Police Department. Patrolman John Lightbody handled the incident.
Police also reported a suspicious incident that occurred at 9:48 p.m. June 26. In that incident, a 47-year-old Hispanic woman from Manalapan reported that she was followed home by an unknown man who was driving a white Lexus-style sedan.
The woman told police the man followed her home and asked for directions, but did not get out of his car. He drove off with no further interaction. No description of the man was given.
