Alice E. Slemmer

Alice E. Slemmer, formerly of North Brunswick, passed away July 1, 2015, at Bethany Village in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. She was 93.

Born in Belleville, New Jersey, she lived in New Brunswick and in North Brunswick for over 40 years. She also resided in Belen, New Mexico, and New Port Richey, Florida, before moving to Mechanicsburg 12 years ago. Alice was a graduate of New Brunswick High School.

Alice was an assistant scientist for Johnson & Johnson research for 37 years, before retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Johnson & Johnson 25- year club and retirees club; a past matron of the Eastern Star chapter number 190 in Highland Park; a choir member and a library clerk for Bethany Village; and a member and choir member of the United Methodist Church in New Brunswick.

She enjoyed traveling and loved playing Scrabble with her late sister-in-law, Cary Lawrence. Alice was a kind and loving person to all she knew and will be sadly missed.

Alice was predeceased by her husband, Warren H. Slemmer (d. 1992); and her brother, John J. Lawrence Jr.

Surviving are her sons and daughtersin law, Warren and Bonny Slemmer of Weirton, West Virginia; and John and Laura Slemmer of Franklin Park, New Jersey; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three nieces.

Funeral arrangements were made by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N. Main St., Milltown. An Eastern Star service took place during the visitation. Funeral services were held at the funeral home, and were followed by burial at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick.
