Manalapan man, 24, charged in burglary

MANALAPAN — A Manalapan resident has been charged with burglary following his alleged involvement in a recent incident.

Police said that at 8 a.m. June 15, officers responded to a report of a burglary at Donny’s Deli, 339 Route 9 south. An unknown individual shattered the glass to the front door and entered the premises. Police were told that $500 in cash was taken from the register.

At 1:30 p.m. June 16, Jonathan Barjudinas, 24, was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal mischief and theft following an investigation into the burglary at the deli a day earlier.

Bail for Barjudinas was set at $30,000 and he was initially placed in the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township.

Police said Barjudinas was found to have an active criminal warrant issued from the Manalapan Municipal Court for $1,500 that he was unable to post.

Manalapan detectives Ken Mikulik and Jared Aronson were the investigating and arresting officers in this case.
