Judith Briede Litt, 64, of East Brunswick, died peacefully surrounded by her family on the evening of July 5.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Judy lived in New Jersey for the past 39 years. Her noble battle against an aggressive form of peritoneal cancer for more than four years served as an inspiration for many.
A showroom supervisor at Aaron & Co. in Freehold, Judy designed kitchens and bathrooms. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Judy’s career began as a flight attendant with United Airlines before moving to Avon Products as a district manager. Judy founded Interior Insights in 1984, and she joined Aaron & Co. in 1997.
An active member of Temple B’nai Shalom in East Brunswick, Judy was also involved in the community, including being president of the East Brunswick Education Foundation. Her hobbies, in addition to interior design, included golf and travel.
Judy is survived by her husband of 41 years, David; her daughter, Miranda Saunders (Will); and her son, Jeffrey. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Sterling, Olivia, Helena and Eliza of Richmond, Virginia; along with four brothers and sisters, Michael (Donna) Briede, Marisue Briede, Joellen (Marvin) Walterbusch, and Mark (Christine) Briede, all of Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very lengthy list of friends.
She will be dearly missed by so many who loved her for her thoughtfulness, determination, intelligence, style, wit and grace. Those who knew Judy will never forget her.
Services were held at Temple B’nai Shalom, East Brunswick, on July 8 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Interment was at Sharon Gardens in Valhalla, New York.
