LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Does the council want people to attend?

To the editor:
While looking over the agenda for the July 21 township meeting, I noticed something odd at the end. The next meeting will be on Aug. 4. That’s the same day as “National Night Out“ and the times for both will overlap.
Why even have both on the same day? This seems to happen every year. What if some of the concerned citizens of East Windsor would like to attend both? Sometimes I feel our town doesn’t want people to attend township meetings.
When more than one event is intentionally scheduled at the same time, does the council want people to attend?
When meetings start in one room and end in another room, does the council want people to attend?
When questions about all the agenda items can only be raised one time, in the beginning of the meeting, does the council want people to attend?
When people must wait until the end of meetings to voice their concerns, does the council want people to attend?
When our council picks and chooses which questions to answer, do they want people to attend?
When meeting minutes are months behind, does our council want people informed?
And when meetings are not video recorded, does our council want people informed?
I would say no.
