By Lea Kahn, Staff Writer
A 43-year-old West Windsor Township woman was killed after the car in which she was a passenger was broad-sided by another vehicle Sunday morning, according to the West Windsor Township Police Department.
Ruby Chiang, 43, died Tuesday morning of her injuries, said police Sgt. Marylouise Tarr. She was riding in a 2014 Acura driven by her husband, Robert Chiang, 42, when the accident occurred at 9:28 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Slayback Drive and Princeton-Hightstown Road (Route 571).
The 2014 Acura, driven by Mr. Chiang, was traveling east (toward Hightstown) on Princeton-Highstown Road and turned left into the entrance of Community Park at Slayback Drive, when it was struck on the passenger side by a 2004 Toyota driven by 18-year-old Michael Martinez of West Windsor Township. The Toyota was traveling west (toward Princeton) when the accident occurred.
The two drivers, as well as the passengers in the Acura, were taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton. That’s where Ms. Chiang died Tuesday morning.
The accident closed down part of Princeton-Hightstown Road for several hours while police investigated the accident and cleaned up the area. The road was reopened at 11:51 a.m.
No charges have been filed because the accident is still under investigation, Sgt. Tarr said.
