‘Hats and Horses’ slated at racetrack

The New Jersey Federation of Republican Women (NJFRW) will hold a “Hats and Horses: A Day at the Races” at noon Aug. 1 at Monmouth Park Racetrack, 175 Oceanport Ave., Oceanport.

Event proceeds will be used to promote NJFRW’s mission of encouraging women to actively participate in government and politics.

Experience the glamour, excitement and passion of Monmouth Park’s Haskell Invitational weekend. Along with premier thoroughbred racing, the afternoon will include a buffet luncheon, a Lilly Pulitzer Fashion Show and prizes for Best Hat and Fascinator. Jewelry from Chloe and Isabel will also be available.

Premium seating will be in Monmouth Park’s Rivalry Room on the Parterre level. The private, air-conditioned dining area overlooks the racetrack, and a wagering booth is just outside the door.

Monmouth Park does not permit casual attire on the Parterre level. Gentlemen need to wear collared shirts, and women should wear hats or fascinators, dresses or slacks.

The cost is $55 for NJFRW members and $65 for non-members. Tickets will be held at the will-call desk for pickup on day of event. For more information, call 609- 318-4467. To register, visit www.njfrw.org.
