POLICE BLOTTER: EAST WINDSOR

East Windsor 

An air conditioner unit and compressor were stolen from the backyard of a residence under renovation on Edison Drive between 6 a.m. on July 12 and 6 p.m. on July 15. The total value of the stolen equipment was estimated at $10,000. The incident is under investigation. 

Nicholas Kinter, 19, of Hamilton, was arrested at 7:17 p.m. on July 16 after a police officer observed a suspicious occupied vehicle parked in a fire lane in the parking lot of the Twin Rivers Mall. An officer saw the driver of the vehicle rolling a marijuana cigarette. Further investigation revealed that the driver was also in possession of a bottle containing marijuana, two smoking pipes and a partially consumed bottle of brandy. Mr. Kinter was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, underage alcohol possession, parking in a fire lane and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. 

Police responded to an activated burglar alarm at the Krauszer’s store on Dorchester Drive at 4:02 a.m. on July 17. The glass in the front door was smashed and lottery tickets were found scattered on the floor. The storeowner reported approximately $120 in cash and $6,000 worth of lottery tickets stolen. The incident is under investigation. 

A 2012 Infiniti worth approximately $24,000 was stolen from the driveway of a Pineybranch Road residence and a 2015 Lexus worth approximately $40,000 was stolen from the driveway of a Shagbark Lane residence during the overnight hours of July 19. Both vehicles were reportedly left unlocked and had the keys inside them. The incidents are under investigation. 

Cynthia Alford, 53, of Trenton, was arrested at 4:25 p.m. on July 19 after police responded to the CVS Pharmacy for a report of an individual attempting to obtain prescription narcotics using a fraudulent prescription. The suspect was identified inside the store and the prescription was confirmed to be fraudulent. Ms. Alford was charged with attempting to obtain prescription by fraud. 

An unlocked vehicle on Hancock Court was entered between 3 p.m. on July 19 and 11:30 a.m. on July 29 and a GPS unit worth $250, sunglasses worth $50, an iPhone charger worth $15 and loose change were stolen from the vehicle.

Debra Pereira, 58, of East Windsor, was arrested at 1:37 p.m. on July 20 and charged with shoplifting. Store personnel reported that she concealed $127.30 worth of merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying. She was later released pending court action. 

Afriyie Knight, 29, of Princeton Junction, was arrested at 3:07 p.m. on July 22 and charged with criminal mischief after he allegedly threw a rock through the front window of the East Windsor Deli. The window shattered, causing damage estimated at $700. The suspect was located walking away from the scene. He was later released pending court action. 
