– Greater Media stringer will sign copies of mystery novel Aug. 7-9

Author Jo-Ann Reccoppa of Old Bridge native will take part in panels and sign her latest mystery novel during the 2015 Deadly Ink Mystery Conference, Aug. 7-9 at the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick.

Reccoppa’s first novel in her Jersey Girl Mystery series is “New Math is Murder;” the second installment, “Hide Nor Hair,” was released in April.

Reccoppa has worked as a stringer for Greater Media Newspapers for many years, and has published short stories in magazines in a Barnes & Noble Crafty Cat Crimes anthology. She is a member of the mystery writers’ group Sisters in Crime/Central Jersey.

– Knights to sponsor bus trip to Resorts

St. James Knights of Columbus Council No. 6336 will offer a Sept. 20 trip to Resorts Casino, Atlantic City. The bus will depart at 10:30 a.m. from the council hall, 83 Lincoln Ave., Jamesburg.

Cost is $26 per person; price includes transportation and a $25 casino slot-play voucher. The trip is open to individuals ages 21 and above. Registration is required before Aug. 10.

– Legislator’s mobile office to visit library

An appearance by Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman’s (D-NJ) mobile office is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Aug. 20 at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.

The congresswoman’s staff will be available to assist residents with questions and issues regarding federal programs or agencies including Citizenship and Immigration Services, Social Security, Veterans Affairs, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.

– Hoffman alumni invited to reunion

Harold G. Hoffman High School, South Amboy, will hold a multi-class reunion 1-5 p.m. Sept. 20 at Mara’s, Catherine Street and Route 35, South Amboy. The class of 1965 will mark its 50th anniversary during the event.

– Author talk and book signing set at library

 Historian and author Michael Gabriele will discuss his book “The History of Diners in New Jersey” 6:30-8 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Sayreville Public Library, Washington Road.

– Talk to shed light on Jewish Nobel laureates

The Brandeis National Committee, Middlesex Chapter, will offer a Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County program titled “The Faces of Genius” 1 p.m. Aug. 18 at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.

The presentation will honor and highlight the private lives and contributions of 10 outstanding Jewish-American Nobel laureates. Admission is free of charge. The public is invited to attend.

School supplies for donation to the Livingston School, New Brunswick, will be collected as part of the August social-justice program.

– ‘Memory Games’ scheduled for seniors

The Wilf Campus for Senior Living will offer a program titled “Fun With Memory Games” 9:30-11 a.m. Aug. 13 at the office of Jewish Family Services of Middlesex County, 52 Concordia Shopping Center, Monroe.
