 The Plumsted Library, 119 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, will host an interactive police heroes program at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 10. Children ages 6-11 are invited to meet members of the New Egypt police department. Details: 609-758-7888.

 The Plumsted Library, 119 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, will host an emergency services heroes story time at 2 p.m. Aug. 13. Children ages 3-6 are invited to meet New Egypt first aid members, along with a story and a craft. Details: 609-758-7888.

 A superhero party for children ages 4-8 will take place at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Plumsted Library, 119 Evergreen Road, New Egypt. Details: 609-758-7888.

 The Jackson Library, Jackson, will host Lawrence Hogan, of Union County College, and Jim Robinson, a veteran of the Negro Leagues, in a presentation of “Blackball,” which explores the black part of the national pastime during America’s era of segregation. The presentation at the library will take place at 7 p.m. Sept. 16. This program is funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Friends of the Jackson Library, and is cosponsored by Jackson Little League.
