The Princeton Council is scheduled to vote Monday to create one hour of free parking at the municipal garage on Spring Street, even as officials consider rate hikes there down the road. A proposed ordinance would put the change in effect either by when improvements to the garage are made or by Oct.1, whichever comes first. The town will spend around $300,000 on new pay stations, gates and computer equipment. “Right now, we’re looking to have the new garage hardware in place mid-September,” said assistant municipal engineer Deanna Stockton on Monday.
