Hundreds of school supplies will be presented to the Food Bank Network of Somerset County as part of the county Commission on the Status of Women’s annual “Project First Class” drive.
Children of families served by the Food Bank Network are benefiting from the donations of backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, glue, paper and binders. More than four boxes of donations were collected at the Warren Township Library. Girl Scout Troop 60122 from Hillsborough also took a school supplies collection.
The commission serves as an advisory board to the freeholders to address needs of women and to develop a greater awareness of women’s issues. For information, email the commission at sccswomen@gmail.com.
