 The fall session of “Dancing by the Peddie Lake with Candace-Woodward- Clough” will begin Sept. 11. The four-week session will take place Fridays at 7:30 p.m. for beginner classes and at 8:30 p.m. for intermediate classes at 112 Etra Road, Hightstown. The cost is $60 per session for instruction in swing, foxtrot, waltz and Latin dancing. Registration is required. Details: 732-995-4284.

 The Monmouth County Genealogy Society will host “Early Monmouth Families: They’re Still Around Us” at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the community center, 72 Broad St., Eatontown. Rick Geffken will discuss some of the earliest European settlers of what is now Monmouth County. The presentation is free and anyone with an interest in local history or genealogy is welcome to attend. Geffken is the of publisher of the society’s newsletter, as well as a local archival historian, writer and frequent lecturer. Details: 609-448-9515.
