HILLSBOROUGH: Gary’s Wine & Marketplace hosts opening day bash on Sept. 12

Gary’s Wine & Marketplace is throwing an opening bash to celebrate the launch of its Hillsborough store, the chain’s fourth location, at 601 Route 206.
CEO and founder Gary Fisch and team will kick off the fall with a free all-day grand-opening event Saturday, Sept. 12, that starts with an 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting.
Gary’s Wine features a selection of wine, beer, spirits and gourmet meats and cheeses, presented in an European-marketplace setting. The store boasts thousands of wines, and more than 250 imported and domestic beers, 400 whiskeys and 150 fresh-cut imported and domestic cheeses.
The beer inventory ranges from premium German pilsners and Belgian ales to all-American lagers and the season’s hottest craft beers.
Hillsborough Mayor Doug Tomson will cut the ribbon. There’ll be caviar, champagne and wine tastings, and balloons and refreshments for kids, a food truck, in-store giveaways, the WDHA-FM van on-site and the ticket giveaways for the 2015 Grand Tasting, the company’s signature fundraising event. The first 100 guests will receive gift bags loaded with Gary’s swag and other goodies.
“It’s great to be part of the vibrant Hillsborough community, and this party is an opportunity for us to thank everyone for getting us off to a strong start!“ said Mr. Fisch.
Mayor Tomson said, “It is my honor to officially welcome Gary’s Wine and Marketplace to Hillsborough. We’re pleased to have Gary’s Wine join our business community.“
Gary’s Wine & Marketplace began as a small wine shop in Madison, in 1987 and has grown to one of the largest fine-wine businesses in the United States, with more than $50 million in revenues and stores in Wayne, Madison, Bernardsville and Hillsborough.
Gary’s was named 2014 Retailer of The Year by Market Watch Magazine.
