PRINCETON: Wait until you see this video! Seniors put a sweet twist on Maroon 5 song ‘Sugar’

Senior citizens at Brandywine Senior Living in Princeton have put a sweet twist on Maroon 5’s hit song, “Sugar.”
To gear up for National Assisted Living Week from Sept. 13 to 19, residents of Brandywine Senior Living at155 Raymond Road put their musical talents to work by lip syncing and performing to the song.
The video was shot by Hillsborough videographer Caz Bielen, who juxtaposed three tuxed-and-top-hatted gentlemen in front of world backdrops, as well as being seduced and treated by ladies teasing them with a taste of sugar.
NALW was established in 1995 by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in recognition of the assisted living industry. This Year’s theme is “Nourishing Life, Mind Body & Spirit.”
On Friday, Sept. 18, at 5:30 p.m. Brandywine will be hosting a fundraiser for the Princeton Parkinson’s Alliance by holding a tricky tray that will feature sweet donations Maroon 5 memorabilia, a 48-inch-screen TV and local gift cards.
Participants will also enjoy an ice cream tasting from The Bent Spoon ice cream shop.
The event aims to broaden awareness of Parkinson disease by raising money for the Parkinson’s Alliance in Princeton, a national non-profit organization committed to raising funds for the most promising Parkinson’s disease research programs.
One million Americans live with Parkinson’s disease and about 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease each year, and this number does not reflect the thousands of cases that go undetected.
“Our residents wanted the fundraiser to be a success, get a lot of attention and donations,” said Stephanie Gaber of Brandywine Senior Living, “so we decided to make a video. Staying within the NALW theme, we asked our residents what food nourishes them. We had an overwhelming response to ‘sugar!’”
The highlight of the evening will be the video debut of their version of “Sugar,” the hit song by Maroon 5. The video, which can be seen on YouTube, features the residents at Brandywine Senior Living at Princeton.
