POLICE BLOTTER: Sept. 10


Lt. Christopher Kasick of the Hopewell Township Police reported:
Christopher P. Hardy, 23, of Lawrenceville was arrested and charged with numerous motor vehicle violations after allegedly attempting to elude Officer James Klesney on Bull Run Road at 12:15 p.m. Sept. 2. The officer attempted to stop Mr. Hardy’s 2005 Hyundai for going 96 mph in a 40 mph zone, police said. The driver was finally stopped on Lopatcong Drive in Ewing and arrested. He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant from Lawrence Township. Police said he posted bail on the warrant and was then charged with eluding, speeding, driving while suspended, reckless driving, driving with a suspended registration and having an unregistered vehicle. He was released and his case will be forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutior’s office. 

Hector A. Diaz, 32, of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Atlantic City at 8 p.m. Sept. 2 on Harbourton Rocktown Road. Officer George Peterson also charged Mr. Diaz with speeding and for not wearing a seat belt. He was released pending a municipal court hearing. 

Ahmed S. Selym, 21, of Pennington was arrested on a warrant from Princeton Municipal Court after his car was stopped for speeding on Ingleside Avenue at 5:20 p.m. Sept. 1. He posted bail on the warrant and was also charged with speeding and for not wearing a seat belt. His cases will be heard in municipal court. 

Christopher Matthews, 52, of Riverside was charged with shoplifting after police were called to the Stop and Shop store on Denow Road at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 28. Store security had detained Mr. Matthews after he allegedly tried to leave the store with $557 worth of groceries without paying. He was released and his case was forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. 

Stanley R. Youong, 35, of Trenton was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Robbinsville after police did a random license plate check on his 1999 Acura at 10:37 a.m. Aug. 29. He was charged with driving while suspended and was turned over to Robbinsville police in default of bail. His traffic case will be heard in municipal court. 
