HILLSBOROUGH: Library will present Small Business Expo on Oct. 3

The Hillsborough Library’s third annual Small Business Expo will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, in the municipal complex on South Branch Road.
Small businesses in Somerset County can introduce their products and services to the community, as well as network with a variety of businesses.
September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. The county library system has teamed up with 68 local businesses to celebrate the month. These businesses will be offering 10 percent off (some restrictions apply) during the month when patrons show their library card at time of purchase. For a list of participating business and discounts, visit SCLSNJ.org/s/signup.
Kids can stop by the Children’s Desk and show us their library card to receive a raffle ticket to win a book. Winners will be drawn every Monday in September.
The Hillsborough Library has reopened on Sundays from 1-5 p.m.
The Reading Buddy program for grades 1-4 has restarted on Saturdays from 2 to 4 p.m. This program is designed to help young readers increase their love of reading while reading aloud with teen volunteers. Each child will be given a 15-minute time slot. Stop by or call the Children’s Desk to sign up for a session.
The library is looking for teens in grades 8-12 to volunteer as a reading buddy. Teens should have social skills and previous experience with children. Volunteers will earn community service hours for attendance.
