Touch-a-Truck benefit slated in Red Bank

Monmouth Day Care Center (MDCC) will host its sixth annual Touch-a-Truck fundraiser, rain or shine, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Red Bank Middle School, 101 Harding Road, Red Bank. Proceeds will benefit MDCC, a nonprofit serving families seeking childcare.

Ambulances, fire engines, military vehicles, dump trucks and other construction vehicles will be on display at the school’s parking lot, where children of all ages can get a closer look and explore them. Owners of the vehicles will explain how the vehicles operate and describe the jobs they perform.

“Every kid stops and watches when a police car or fire engine races by. This event gives them a chance to get to know these vehicles and the men and women who work with them, while contributing to a good cause,” said Heidi Zaentz, MDCC’s executive director in a press release.

Tickets are $12 for a family of four if purchased in advance or $15 at the door. The entrance fee includes crafts, games and music. Food vendors will also be on site, and a 50-50 raffle will be held. For advance tickets, visit www.monmouthdaycarecenter1969.org.
