Board member states why she missed vote

I take my responsibilities as an elected official serving on the Marlboro K-8 School District Board of Education very seriously. I make it a priority to attend all board meetings barring illness or family emergencies.

My attendance record speaks for itself. Therefore, I was troubled to see that the News Transcript, in the Sept. 2 edition, noted my lateness to the Aug. 28 meeting without mentioning that I was late due to a family emergency in upstate New York. As soon as the situation was resolved, I left upstate New York and drove straight to the meeting. I truly believe that the people of Marlboro deserve an explanation in this matter.
