No one was hurt, but a home at 415 Bigley Road was deemed unlivable following a fire Sunday.
Police said they responded to a report of a structure fire at 12:59 p.m. They found heavy smoke and the rear of the residence fully engulfed in flames. Fire companies extinguished the fire, but the residence was “suffered severe damage and was deemed uninhabitable,” police said.
No one was injured. The home is owned by Phillip and Robin Acone, both 57 years old.
The fire does not appear to be suspicious, but its origin was being investigated by police and the township Fire Safety Bureau.
The three Hillsborough companies responded, along with companies from Neshanic, Millstone, Elizabeth Avenue (Franklin), Country Hills (Franklin) and Montgomery No. 1.
Hillsborough and Somerville rescue squads were on the scene. Hillsborough Office of Emergency Management, building department, public works, along with PSE&G, were also there.
