One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and every three minutes, another woman is diagnosed. Not only does it affect the person diagnosed, but family, friends, and co-workers can feel its effects as well.
That’s why there’s no such thing as being too careful when it comes to your health.Whether you have had a breast cancer scare, been diagnosed, or are concerned about maintaining good breast health, you are invited to join Community Medical Center for an evening dedicated to women and staying healthy on Oct. 27 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Experts from Community Medical Center will provide information every woman can benefit from regarding breast health. Jorges Pardes, M.D., a board certified radiologist with more than 30 years of experience in breast imaging, will explain the importance of where you get your mammogram and who interprets its results. Sumy Chang, M.D., fellowship-trained breast surgeon, will share what options are available if the diagnosis is breast cancer. Since good health starts with good food choices,Veronica Gajda, R.D., CSO, dietician, will present tips to help maintain healthy nutrition.
There will be a health fair in the outpatient lobby from 4:3006 p.m. for health information and giveaways. The health fair is free and open to the public.
