Rotary Club of Hillsborough will benefit from a fundraising option unveiled on AmazonSmile, the online retailer’s special website linked to charitable giving.
AmazonSmile shoppers can select the Rotary Club of Hillsborough Foundation from a list of charities when making a purchase, and a percentage of the sale price on qualifying products will automatically be donated to the foundation.
“Our foundation helps fund many organizations and initiatives that support our community,” said local Rotary Club President John Shockley. “We are always looking for new ways to secure funding. AmazonSmile offers an innovative, simple and painless way for shoppers to contribute to the foundation. We look forward to their continuing support. ”
AmazonSmile (http://smile.amazon.com ) accesses the same products and low prices on the main site, but adds an option for shoppers to select a charity to receive a portion of their purchase price. Tens of millions of products on AmazonSmile are eligible for donations. Shoppers will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on the product detail pages. Shoppers can use the same account on Amazon.com and AmazonSmile, and their shopping cart, Wish List, wedding or baby registry, and other account settings automatically appear.
