HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP: Clothes dryer causes fire

The Hopewell Township Police Department, along with the Pennington Fire Department and the Hopewell Valley Emergency Services, responded Friday to a Washington Crossing-Pennington Road address for a reported clothes dryer fire.
Sgt. Kevin Zorn, Officer James Hoffman and Officer James Klesney used fire extinguishers on a fully involved clothes dryer in the basement. They were able to extinguish the fire as fire units arrived.
The dryer and a small area around the dryer were damaged. The house was filled with smoke.
Responding agencies included the West Trenton Fire Department and the Hopewell Fire Department.
This fire appears to be accidental in nature and is under investigation by the Hopewell Township Police Department and Hopewell Valley Emergency Services. There were no injuries reported. 
