Girl Scouts to host dance fundraiser

The first “Dancing with Our Stars” event will be hosted by the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore at Eagle Oaks Country Club, Howell, on Nov. 12 from 6-10 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person and are available online at girlscoutsjs.org/dance.

According to a press release, the evening will be full of energy as MC Sue Moll and Shawn Michaels of WOBM feature the dances performed by well-known individuals from Ocean and Monmouth counties.

Celebrity judges include Thomas Hayes, New Jersey Natural Gas; Kathy Mead, Investors Bank; and Jonathan Petro, Carluccio, Leone, Dimon, Doyle & Sacks, LLC.

The most recent star added to the dance lineup is Jeff Frazier, formerly of the Detroit Tigers.

Frazier will be joined by Jim DeAngelis of the Lakewood BlueClaws; Jeremy Grunin from the Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation; Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Board President Fran Keane of CentraState Healthcare System; Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Alumnae Association mentor Noelle Lotano from the Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce; Patty Ostaszewski from HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital; and Carol Stillwell from Stillwell-Hansen Inc.

The stars will perform dances such as the tango, cha cha, waltz, swing and salsa. The participants have been rehearsing at Shall We Dance Studios and will seek to claim the mirror ball trophy, according to the press release.
