Halloween parade slated for Oct. 18

Councilwoman Linda Schwabenbauer, chair of the Parks and Recreation Committee, and the Department of Parks and Recreation invite all to attend the 68th annual Halloween Parade scheduled to begin 2 p.m. Oct. 18 in Red Bank. The rain date is Oct. 25.

The parade lineup and costume judging will begin at 1 p.m. at the corner of East Bergen Place and South Street. Parade participants will travel north on Broad Street, west on White Street and continue to the White Street parking lot for a celebration filled with entertainment, prizes and treats. The first 500 children will receive a goody bag.

Prizes will be awarded for best costumes (by age), best small group and for best pet costume. Entertainment and activities will also be provided. Bring family, friends and pets. For safety reasons, do not use retractable leashes on pets.
