Literacy New Jersey has announced that Middlesex County Tutor Training will take place from noon-3 p.m. Nov. 10, 17 and 24, and Dec. 1 at the Edison Public Library, 340 Plainfield Ave., Edison.
Tutors help adults with reading, writing, speaking English and math. Students and tutors meet at a location convenient to both, such as a local library, with the location determined by the student and tutor.
Literacy New Jersey’s staff guides those interested through the necessary steps to become a tutor by providing training, matching each tutor with a student whose learning needs fit with the tutor’s abilities and supporting tutors as they work with students. The Tutor Training Program is a 12-hour course, and all four consecutive sessions must be attended.
