HIGHTSTOWN – Borough Council is investigated and reviewed proposals for shared services during its Monday night council meeting.
“As you know, we have been investigating shared services for several months to the point that I was directed to send out written proposals to other towns to get proposals on shared services,” said Borough Administrator Henry Underhill.
He said that currently they have reviewed many of those and they dealt with police support and dispatch.
“At this time, we are looking at doing a deal at the dispatch and we are confident that then we will come back and recommend to you that we have an agreement and then get a resolution to move forward.”
He said it is his understanding that they are going to continue to look at and be committed to shared services and discuss all possibilities no matter what department or avenue that they come in.
“Well said,” said Mayor Larry Quattrone. “We will always look for shared services any way we can save the borough money.”
