COLTS NECK – Kathleen Capristo, who has 20 years of experience in corporate human resources, has joined Colts Neck as its new township administrator.
Mayor James Schatzle swore Capristo in to her position in early September. She began working in Colts Neck on Sept. 28.
Capristo said she spent 20 years in corporate human resources, primarily in the direct marketing and financial service industry. She said her expertise spans all aspects of human resources, including performance management, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations and organizational development.
Capristo said she spent eight years in municipal government as a deputy registrar, deputy clerk and deputy municipal clerk.
Capristo was selected as Colts Neck’s new administrator from a field of 51 candidates.
A Township Committee subcommittee consisting of Schatzle, Committeeman Russell Macnow and Interim Township Administrator Tom Antus initially interviewed her.
She was one of three candidates who had a final interview in front of the entire Township Committee. Antus said Capristo stood out because of her strong organizational skills.
“I am thrilled to be joining Colts Neck,” Capristo said. “It is a great opportunity for me to fully use my private sector and public sector experience.
“In the short time I have been here, it is evident that the Township Committee, along with the management and staff, are enthusiastic, talented and highly motivated.
“There is no doubt they truly care about this community, its residents and business owners. I am looking forward to doing what I can to contribute to what is clearly a great community and a team of dedicated professionals,” she said.
Capristo resides in Spring Lake with her husband and daughter.
