EAST WINDSOR POLICE BLOTTER for 10/30/15

Jason Clavijo, 20, of Hampton Arms Apartments, was arrested an charged with distribution of more than 1 ounce of marijuana; possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; underage possession of alcohol; and three motor vehicle charges after being stopped by East Windsor Township police at 9:52 p.m. Oct. 8.
While on patrol in the area of Route 130, an officer observed a vehicle operating with a malfunctioning headlight and conducted a motor vehicle stop.
When speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and alcohol.
Mr. Clavijo was arrested and detained at the Mercer County Correctional Center in lieu of $30,000 bail.
Small electronics, money, credit cards and clothing were taken from several unlocked vehicles during the overngiht hours between Oct. 7 and Oct, 14 in East Windsor township.
Further investigation led to the identification of Christopher Pereira, 18, of Hightstown, who was later arrested and charged with burglary, credit card theft and theft. He was remanded to Mercer County Correctional Center in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Brittany Leigh Ward, 23, of Monmouth Junction, N.J., was arrested and charged for DUI, careless driving, being a suspended driver and being an unlicensed driver at 2:40 a.m. Oct. 10.
While on patrol in the area of Route 130 and Route 571, a police officer observed a vehicle driving erratically and conducted a motor vehicle stop. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle. He also noticed the driver’s eyes were bloodshot and watery.
Ms. Ward was given a field sobriety test and arrested for DUI. She was later released pending court action.
Brian P. Shaw Jr., 32, of Hamilton, N.J., was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless driving and careless driving after a traffic stop at 3:36 p.m. Oct. 10.
Patrol officers responded to 375 Route 130 North for a report of a crash involving two vehicles. While speaking with one of the drivers, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was also having difficulty standing.
Mr. Shaw was given a field sobriety test and arrested for DUI. He was later released pending court action.
Anibal Solares-Samayoa, 40, of Princeton, N.J., was charged with DUI, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to maintain lane after a motor vehicle stop at 4:28 p.m. Oct. 11.
A complainant reported a possible intoxicated driver on Route 133 West in the area of Route 130. An officer observed the vehicle proceeding recklessly on Route 133 and conducted a motor vehicle stop.
The officer smelled the odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle and observed the driver’s eyes to be bloodshot and watery. Ms. Solares-Samayoa was given field sobriety tests and arrested for DUI. She was later released pending court action.
Daniel Guzman-Torres, 27, of Abington Drive, was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless driving, careless driving and other offense after a motor vehicle stop at 9:48 p.m. Oct. 12.
A complainant reported a silver Mazda driving erratically in the area of Milford Road. An officer observed the vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the road on Lake Drive and conducted a stop.
The officer detected the odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle and observed that the driver had bloodshot and watery eyes.
Mr. Guzman-Torres was given field sobriety tests and arrested for DUI. He was later released pending court action.
John Scholl, 52, of New Egypt, N.J., was arrested and charged with DUI, DUI in a school zone, reckless driving and careless driving after a motor vehicle stop at 1:27 a.m. on Oct. 13.
While on patrol, an officer observed an occupied beige Ford pick-up truck parked in the lot of the PAL fields. The driver appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat.
While interacting with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol coming from within the vehicle.
Mr. Scholl was given field sobriety tests and arrested for DUI. He was later released pending court action.
