Seniors sought for JCC program with youth

The Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Rd., Edison, will hold “Better Together,” a new program funded by the Heritage Legacy Foundation, aimed at forming intergenerational connections. The start date is Oct. 29.

Thirteen seniors are sought to share “their life stories” with eighth grade girls from a local Jewish day school for approximately one Thursday a month for eight months. Students will be well prepared for their visits with tailored curricula of history, memoir writing, and they will be given the opportunity to reflect and record what they have learned from their interaction with the seniors. At the end of the year, they will compile their writings and present a video at a year-end banquet.
