Shoe collection will benefit developing nations

Karma Cat + Zen Dog (KCZD) Rescue Society is participating in the Shoes for Shelters shoe drive fundraiser that will run through Nov. 10 and will raise funds for homeless animals in central New Jersey.

The rescue group will earn funds based on the number of pairs collected, as Funds2Orgs will purchase all of the donated goods. Those dollars will help offset the increasing food and medical costs incurred by more than 60 cats and kittens currently in the care of KCZD.

To donate worn, used or new shoes, visit PetSmart. 901 Route 1 south, North Brunswick; Rabbit’s Den Tattoo Parlor, 120 N. Main St., Milltown; Edgebrook Animal Hospital, 777 Helmetta Blvd., East Brunswick; St. Francis Animal Clinic, 261 Throckmorton St., Freehold; One Steep at a Thyme Teahouse, 170 Gatzmer Ave., Jamesburg; or Road Runner Sports, 501 Shoppes Blvd., North Brunswick.

All donated shoes will be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of microenterprise partners in developing nations.
