Veterans invited to appreciation luncheon

Driven by Heroes, a new nonprofit organization providing access to critical healthcare for veterans through its free transportation program, and Bella Vista Country Club, Marlboro, will host a complimentary luncheon, “Honoring Our Veterans … A Holiday Celebration,” on Nov. 22 from noon to 3 p.m. at Bella Vista Country Club, 100 School Road East, Marlboro.

Transportation to the event will be provided by Academy Bus, according to a press release.

Driven by Heroes’ mission is to honor and enhance the quality of life for U.S. military veterans and current military personnel and their families.

The organization facilitates access to healthcare through its transportation program that provides free rides to veterans to their critical care medical appointments (chemotherapy, traumatic brain injury, dialysis, spinal cord injury, homeless services, mental health, and more).

Veterans from all branches of the military and campaigns are invited to participate in the celebration honoring their service.

News 12 reporter John Bathke will emcee the event that includes a procession of heroes, color guard entrance, performance of holiday tunes by the Paper Mill Playhouse a cappella group, a luncheon buffet, a live broadcast by Big Joe Henry of NJ 101.5 and special guest speakers.
