Millstone Township Fire Company Ladies’ Auxiliary Fall Rummage Sale – The Millstone Township Fire Company Ladies’ Auxiliary will host a Fall Rummage Sale on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Millstone Firehouse, 461 Stage Coach Road. Donations of gently used household items, linens, toys, clothing, books and sporting equipment will be accepted at the firehouse from Tuesday, Nov. 10, through Thursday, Nov. 12, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Due to government regulations, cribs and car seats cannot be accepted. No computers or exercise equipment will be accepted. All proceeds to benefit the Millstone Township Fire Company. At the Cranbury Public Library, outdoor enthusiasts of all ages (children 12 and under with adult) are invited to learn geocaching basics and to brave the outdoors and look for a cache at 1 p.m. at the library, 23 North Main St. Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden in that location. Come dressed for the weather, and bring a Smartphone or iPad. This activity will be led by librarian and geocacher Cynthia Lambert. 

The Cranbury Museum at 4 Park Pace East in Cranbury will be open from 1-4 p.m. Visitors can see the new exhibit, “Depression Glass: Candy-Colored Glass of the Depression Era,“ which showcases the colorful American glassware produced during the Depression Era and features over 300 pieces.
The Bordentown Elks 2085 Special Children’s Committee monthly breakfast will be held from 8:30-11 a.m. at the Bordentown Elks. Breakfast is made to order and some menu items include pancakes, French toast, eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, pork roll, ham, coffee, milk and juice. The Beth El Synagogue of East Windsor Genealogy Club presents “Beginning Your Family Research” at 7:30 p.m. The emphasis of the presentation will be on Jewish genealogical research, with examples of how to access 19th and 20th century U. S. and European records, primarily using information available on the Internet. The presentation will be appropriate for both beginners and people with more advanced research knowledge. Cranbury Public Library will host iPad Academy: You’ve Got Mail at 1 p.m. Learn how to set up and use email accounts on an iPad.
The Friends of the Hickory Corner Library will host its annual Fall Book Sale starting at 4 p.m. at the Hickory Corner Branch, Mercer County Library System, 138 Hickory Corner Road, East Windsor N.J. The sale is open to members of the Friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday and continues until 8:30 p.m. The sale is also open Friday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and a bag sale will be held Sunday, Nov. 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. Browse through thousands of gently used books, DVDs and CDs. Proceeds are used to purchase materials for the library and provide special programs for adults and children, including the Summer Reading Program.
Beth El Synagogue Women’s League will present “Next Year in Jerusalem” — Getting the Most Out of Your Trip to Israel at 7:30 p.m. Gloria Adlerman from Atlas World Travel will present some of the many different ways to enjoy your next (or first) trip to Israel, from historical and archeological tours to outdoor adventures to spiritual journeys. Drawing on more than 40 years experience in the travel industry, Gloria will share some lesser known itineraries, special destinations, and tips for travel in Israel. Start off your Thanksgiving Day by helping those in need. Participate in the Third Annual Mercer County Turkey Trot at Mercer County Park, 334 South Post Road, West Windsor, NJ 08550. The morning event will consist of a 5K Race and a 1-mile walk/run. The 5K race kicks off at 8:30 a.m. from the West Picnic area. The 1-mile walk/run begins at 8:35 a.m. The entry fee is $25 until Oct. 31, 2015 and $30 after October 31, 2015. Visit www.mercercountyturkeytrot.com. Proceeds from the event will benefit local food pantries, including Jewish Family and Children’s Service (JFCS) Kosher Food Pantry, Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK), Catholic Charities and the Red Cross. Participants are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the food pantries. 

Township Senior Center offers trip to Yuletide at Winterthur in Wilmington, Delaware, on Monday, November 30. A guided tour of Winterthur, the 19th century 175-room boyhood home of horticulturist Henry du Pont, will highlight the wintertime displays, breathtakingly decorated trees, colorfully dressed rooms and exquisite faux food and place settings. The bus will leave from the Senior Center, 40 Lanning Boulevard, at 8 a.m. and return at approximately 4:30 p.m. The cost is $35, and lunch on your own in their cafeteria. Central Jersey Chapter 148 of Korean War Veterans Association: Any veterans who served during the war from June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953 or who have served in Korea from July 27, 1953 to the current date can join the group that meets at 10 a.m. the second Wednesday of every month (except January, February, March and April) at the Monroe Township Municipal Building. Requirements for membership include paying dues of $25 to the Korean War Veterans Association and a $10 chapter fee per year. The chapter is involved in various functions throughout the year including parades with color guard, flag raisings, Korean War memorial ceremonies, funerals and more. Community dinner: Rise and the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen offer free hot meals at the First Presbyterian Church, 320 N. Main St., Hightstown, on Mondays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and the First United Methodist Church, 187 Stockton St., Hightstown, on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. All meals are provided free on an unconditional, no-questions-asked basis. Volunteers are welcome.
Food Pantry: The Rise Food Pantry is open 52 weeks a year from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and from 5 to 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month. Baby care items, personal products and all nonperishable and perishable food items are needed for local families. The pantry welcomes locally grown fruits and vegetables. Food can be donated directly to the pantry at 225 Franklin St., Hightstown, during operating hours or to the Greater Goods Thrift Store, 114 Rogers Ave., Hightstown.
