A toy drive is under way at the Goddard School in Morganville from Nov. 23 through Dec. 17. All toys will be donated to the Toys for Tots Foundation whose mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys each year and distribute them as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community.

The children and teachers recognize the significance of giving back and being a part of their community by helping those less fortunate. At the Goddard School, laying the foundation to good citizenship is fostered through the development of four essential skills: friendship, compassion, cooperation and kindness. Russell Brokstein, a Freehold chiropractor, will participate in the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors “Baby It’s Cold Outside” annual food and winter coat drive. From Nov. 27 through Jan. 4, nonperishable food items, coats, hats, gloves and scarves can be dropped off at Hometown Family Wellness Center, 9 Broadway, Freehold. Jessica Schwartz of Marlboro has been promoted to vice president of sales and marketing at iPlay America, Freehold Township. Schwartz joined iPlay America two years ago as director of marketing. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, Md.

The New Jersey chapter of the Community Associations Institute has relocated its chapter headquarters to a larger facility at 500 Harding Road, Freehold. The organization provides education and resources to help members stay abreast of the current news, laws and issues affecting community associations in New Jersey. Dr. Andrew Citron of Manalapan received the Excellence in Healthcare Award at the Raritan Bay Medical Center Foundation 31st annual Harbor Lights Ball. Citron is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and is the director of the Division of Anesthesiology at Raritan Bay Medical Center. He manages the operating rooms at the medical center’s Perth Amboy and Old Bridge locations with a special interest in regional anesthesia.

Phil Scaduto has been named the 2015 Monmouth Council, Boy Scouts of America Joshua Huddy Gala Distinguished Citizen Award recipient. Scaduto has helped raise more than $230,000 for the Boy Scouts of Monmouth and Middlesex counties. The award will be presented to him by New Jersey Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno.

Scaduto is the vice president and coowner of Food Circus Super Markets Inc., Middletown, and managing director of Highland Traders, Middletown. He is a lifelong resident of Middletown and has been involved in charitable and civic organizations, volunteering his time and offering financial support. The award was established in 1974.
