Paws First hosts Hungry Bowl pet food drive for homeless pets

People who are homeless or unemployed aren’t the only ones who get hungry when food pantry donations run dry. Animal shelters and pet rescue operations also face empty pantries when feeding the countless unwanted animals in their care.

Paws First, LLC, a professional pet-sitting and dog walking service in Metuchen, wants to restock the shelves this holiday season and help feed dogs and cats waiting to be adopted.

Working with Metuchen’s Girl Scout Cadet Troop No. 80612, Paws First is hosting the local Hungry Bowl Pet Food Drive. All dog and cat food donations will go directly to Woodbridge Animal Shelter & Adoption Center, which is in great need of pet food as it enters the new year.

Donations will be accepted Dec. 5-13, at the following locations:

Marafiki Fair Trade: 20 New St., Metuchen; 732-902-6300

Old Franklin School (Borough Improvement League): 491 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen; 862-368-2202.

Metuchen High School: 400 Grove Ave., Metuchen; 732-321-8744

Edgar Middle School, 49 Brunswick Ave., Metuchen; 732-321- 8770
