HILLSBOROUGH: Fire trucks will bring Santa to kids

Santa is coming to Hillsborough neighborhoods. He’ll make a special pre-holiday visit to neighborhoods, escorted by township fire fighters, on upcoming weekends.
The fire fighters will give Rudolph and the other reindeer who pull the sleigh the weekend to rest, and the volunteers will transport Santa on one of their fire trucks.
Have your cameras ready for a picture. Firefighters likely will have a sweet treat to hand out to kids.
In Flagtown and the western part of the township, the firefighters of Company 1 will bring Santa to neighborhoods on Saturday, Dec. 12, starting at 9 a.m.
Fire fighters say, “Come outside to meet Santa when you see the truck coming and you hear the Christmas music and the siren.”
Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 will bring Santa Claus within its response area on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12 and 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The company’s trucks will visit areas north of Route 206 in the northern part of the township on Saturday, Dec. 12, and on the south side on Sunday, Dec. 13.
Fire Station 37 has been doing the Santa Run for more than 25 years and the company says the firefighters enjoy seeing kids get a chance to see Santa as he makes his preplan trip for Christmas Day.
Anyone who has a special needs child and would like a special stop is asked to contact ex-chief Nick Speciale at 908-359-5530 or email nspeciale@hillsboroughoem.org.
Woods Road firehouse (Company 3) will take Santa around on fire trucks and hand out candy canes and take pictures with kids. Trucks will cover the area south of Hillsborough Road on Saturday, Dec. 12, and north of Hillsborough Road on Dec. 19. They will start at 9 a.m. each day.
