HIGHTSTOWN: Grace Norton Rogers School wins arts scholarship

The Grace Norton Rogers School has won an Arts Education Scholarship from Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania.
Through the grant, the school will work with Young Audiences to deliver a variety of arts education programs for the students of the Grace Norton Rogers School to inspire and expand children’s learning. The specific programs will reinforce the school motto, “We are Growing & Nurturing Responsible Leaders.”
Rogers School was one of more than 50 schools throughout New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania to apply for the grants, and one of only eight winning schools to be selected.
Heather Gladkowski and Michael Tozzi put a collaborative effort into creating a proposal, which connected leadership and arts.
“We are thrilled to receive this generous grant,” said Heather Gladkowski, principal of Grace Norton Rogers. “Providing quality arts programming to our students has always been a goal at Rogers. With the help of Young Audiences, we can make a connection between our leadership program and art. Students will be able to beautify our building while promoting our school and community culture.”
“Grace Norton Rogers’ application demonstrated a real commitment to offering its students exceptional arts programming — and a need for financial assistance to make that happen,” said Michele Russo, president & CEO of Young Audiences. “We look forward to working with Heather Gladkowski, Michael Tozzi, and Maria Grace Welsh along with the school staff to plan a curriculum-based, engaging array of arts initiatives for students and teachers.”
Grace Norton Rogers will work with Young Audiences’ staff and professional artist to create an exceptional experience for students. This program will connect directly to leadership and will have a lasting effect on students and staff within the community of Grace Norton Rogers.
