The boys 13- to 14-year-old crosscountry team representing the Shore Athletic Club/Gone Running captured the Region 2 Niagara Jr. Olympic Championship in Rochester, New York, Nov. 28. The Shore AC/Gone Running team won the championship with a low score of 26 points.

With the victory, the boys qualified for the USATF Jr. Olympic National Championships Dec. 12 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Tyler Kelly (Freehold Township) led the Shore AC/Gone Running squad, touring the 4K course in 14:10 to finish seventh overall. Right behind him was Rishi Sharma (Manalapan) in eighth, 14:10. Zach Zawatski (Manalapan) 14:33, Kyle Spector (Manalapan) 14:37, Joey Sorrentino (Manalapan) 14:51, Joseph Cicoria (Monroe) 14:51, and James Gaughan (Marlboro) 15:31, completed the team, finishing 14th, 15th, 24th, 25th and 33rd overall. In team scoring, the top five finishers went first, second, fifth, sixth and 12th.

The Central Jersey Umpire Association is looking for men and women who enjoy baseball and would like to make extra money. The group has many games on weekends, weeknights and weekdays from 7U to summer college level.
