Donors needed for area blood drives

New Jersey Blood Services, a division of New York Blood Center (NYBC) is asking for help in maintaining an adequate supply of all blood types, especially O negative, the “universal” blood that can be transfused into anyone in an emergency. Current inventory is running below the desired target level for all types.

The upcoming blood-drive schedule is as follows:

 Dec. 19, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. — Jamesburg Elks, 74 W. Railroad Ave.;

 Dec. 20, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. — New Brunswick Donor Center, 167 New St.;

 Dec. 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. — Four Seasons at Historic Cranbury, 1 Labaw Drive;

 Dec. 22, 1:30-7:30 p.m. — Public Works and Utilities Building, 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick;

 Dec. 23, 1:30-7:30 p.m. — What’s the Scoop, 410 Main St, Metuchen;

 Dec. 23, 3-7:30 p.m. — East Brunswick Public Library, 2 Jean Walling Civic Center;

 Dec. 27, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. — New Brunswick Donor Center, 167 New St.;

 Dec. 29, 1:30-7:30 p.m. — United Methodist Church, 47 N. Main St., Milltown;

 Dec. 29, 2-9 p.m. — New Brunswick Donor Center, 167 New St.;

 Dec. 30, 2-8 p.m. — Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4589, 33 Daniel Road, Spotswood;

 Dec. 30, noon-6 p.m. — Comfort Inn Hotel and Suites, 1275 Route 1 and 9 South, Avenel section of Woodbridge.
