SOUTH BRUNSWICK — A Franklin man, who was about to head into South Brunswick Municipal Court, was charged with drug possession on Nov. 17 after he was found to be carrying nine decks of heroin on him.
Michael Pino, 33, approached the court screening area where two officers were standing. Instructed by officers to empty his pockets, he reportedly did so except for a bulge in his front jeans pocket, according to a statement released by the South Brunswick Police Department.
Pino allegedly placed his hand over the pocket and refused to reveal what he was concealing, police said. He purportedly resisted the two Class II officers and additional officers were required to come to the court.
The officers allegedly discovered that Pino was hiding nine decks of heroin with a red label “killer” on it in his pants.
Pino was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Middlesex County Correction Center on $20,000 bail.
The original case he was going to court on was postponed to a later date, police said.
