The East Windsor Township Police Department initiated the following police reports through Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015.
Four Maryland residents were arrested and charged with multiple weapons and drug offenses at 4:07 on Dec. 3 while traveling on Route 33.
While on patrol in the area of Route 33, an officer observed a black Chevy with a brake lamp out and conducted a traffic stop near Milford Road. While speaking with the driver of the vehicle, the officer detected the odor of marijuana. Further investigation revealed that all occupants were in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. One of the individuals additionally possessed a large sum of money and two pistol style bb guns.
Haris M. Bilal, 30, of Aberdeen, Maryland, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; Russelle P. Chaeppelle, 32 of Windsor Mill, Maryland, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and for being under the influence of drugs; Erica A. Ingram, 29, of Essex, Maryland, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drugs in a motor vehilce and possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle; and Tyesha F. Bilal, 28, of Windsor Mill, Maryland, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All occupants were arrested and later released pending court action.
Quintin I. Powell, 32, of Windsor Castle, was arrested for terroristic threats and weapons offenses at 7:39 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Princeton Arms.
Patrol officers responded to Princeton Arms and took a report from two victims who were threatened by a male with a knife. Further investigation resulted in identifying the suspect who was arrested and lodged in the Mercer County Correctional Center on $40,000 bail.
Trevor M. Taylor, 23, of Trenton, was arrested for DUI, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to observe a signal at 1:54 a.m. on Dec. 4 on Old Cranbury Road.
An officer responded to the area of Old Cranbury Road and North Main Street for a two-vehicle motor vehicle crash. No injuries were reported. The officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the breath of the at fault driver. Mr. Taylor was given field sobriety tests and arrested for DUI. He was later released pending court action.
Shada Kelly, 23, of Shirley, New York, and Alexis Haag, 24, of Majestic Beach, New York, were charged with shoplifting at 5:42 p.m. on Dec. 6 at TJMaxx.
An officer responded to TJ Maxx for two shoplifters in custody. Further investigation revealed that both individuals removed security tags and concealed merchandise under their clothing while exiting the store. Both were arrested and later released pending court action.
Robert T. Ferguson, 25, of Jackson, N.J., was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:12 a.m. on Dec. 7 along Route 133.
An officer was on patrol in the area of Route 133 and observed a silver Hyundai swerve onto the shoulder of the roadway and conducted a motor vehicle stop. While speaking with the occupants, the officer detected the odor of marijuana. Further investigation revealed that a passenger was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Ferguson was arrested and later released pending court action.
Nicholas D. Verveniotis, 22, of Allentown, N.J., was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving at 11:40 p.m. on Dec. 9 while traveling on Old York Road.
While on patrol in the area of Old York Road, an officer observed a black Nissan following another vehicle too closely and conducted a motor vehicle stop. While speaking with driver, the officer observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of a hypodermic needle and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Verveniotis was arrested and later released pending court action.
