Hopewell Township resident Jessica Niederer was honored as New Jersey Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year with a ceremonial resolution on Dec. 17 during the state General Assembly voting session.
Assemblyman Reed Gusciora, a Democrat representing Mercer and Hunterdon, is sponsoring the resolution.
Ms. Niederer was selected as the state’s top young farmer by the state Board of Agriculture. Following a family tradition of farming, the Cornell University graduate started Chickadee Creek Farm in the township. She also is an active member of the Mercer County Board of Agriculture.
