Monroe Township High School senior, Evan Pron, right, stands next to Fred Gould, state chairman of the Voice of Democracy. Evan received the first-place award in the Voice of Democracy Scholarship Essay Contest for District 8. Evan’s essay was selected and sponsored by the East Brunswick VFW Post 133. His essay will now advance to the next competition level to represent the Voice of Democracy program. The state winner will be announced Jan. 23.
