Free dental-care event scheduled at KidZdent on Feb. 5

Cavan Brunsden, D.M.D., and the team at KidZdent, 2455 Route 516, Old Bridge, will provide a day of free preventive and emergency dental care for uninsured, underprivileged children ages 12 and under, during the one-day Give Kids A Smile event set for Feb. 5.

The program is part of National Children’s Dental Health Month, the American Dental Association’s annual push to bring attention to the No. 1 childhood disease: tooth decay.

Children who come to Dr. Brunsden’s office on Feb. 5 will receive a comprehensive dental examination, oral healthcare instructions, fluoride treatments and free dental-hygiene materials including toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss. The event also will feature face painting, balloons, tattoos and more.

The Give Kids A Smile program is in its 14th year. Dentists and other team members volunteer their time and services to provide screenings, treatments and education to children throughout the United States. Each year approximately 350,000 children benefit from more than 1,500 events.

Individuals who wish to be seen at KidZdent on Feb. 5 should call 732-679-2323 or log on to www.njda.org and click on Give Kids a Smile under Public Resources for more participating locations.
