Freehold Township High School junior Ralph Gambino, a pitcher, has given his verbal commitment to play baseball at Penn State University.

Howell High School graduate Michael Dworzak was a member of the Lebanon Valley College men’s cross-country team, earning a varsity letter.

The Flying Dutchmen took home the team trophy at Penn State Harrisburg’s Bud Smitley Invitational Oct. 2.

Dworzak is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in chemistry.

The Manalapan Baseball and Softball Association has opened player registration for the spring 2016 baseball and softball season for residents of Manalapan and Englishtown.

The baseball program has divisions for boys between the ages of 4 and 18, and the softball program has divisions for girls between the ages of 5 and 14.

Sky Blue FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) officially announced that it has promoted Christy Holly to the position of head coach. A native of Ireland, Holly takes over as Sky Blue FC head coach after spending the past three years as a top assistant for the club.

Holly brings over 16 years of coaching experience to his new position as head coach of Sky Blue FC, spanning across various levels in both the United States and his native Ireland. Prior to serving as an assistant coach for Sky Blue FC, he served for two years as an assistant at Georgian Court University, as well as previously coaching in the same capacity for the Sky Blue FC Reserve Team. The Derry, Ireland, native has a longstanding reputation as a great talent evaluator and game strategist, and his involvement with Sky Blue FC since the foundation of the NWSL has thoroughly prepared him for this promotion.
